Janitor ClosetI was recently asked,"Where does “Envrionmental Health Services” start?  My answer was that it starts with a change of mindset.  There is no other one place where I can tell if the mindset has changed more than with the custodial or janitors closet.  This is the one place where the individual can show their own personality as well as attitude.

GLOBALLY HARMONIZED SYSTEM (GHS)

In 2012, the MSDS program was changed to a Globally Harmonized System (GHS) which requires a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for all products. Today, this new formula for hazardous classification and labeling provides a uniform format to be followed by various chemical companies, state regulations, and associations. While not perfect, it meets the needs of the chemist, the end user, and most importantly, the industrial worker.

PARTICIPATION

Green School CampaignThis past week, Paul Fennewald with the Missouri School Boards Association and I produced our 5th webinar in the 11 part series.  The title; PARTICIPATE.  There are many individuals in our world who are giving lip service to the Green and Healthy cleaning issues of our time.  Although the webinar does focus on schools, the message is completly applicable to any and all faculties.
